EMBRACE THE NIGHT ETERNAL is the second book in Ms. Ware’s Awakening Heroes series. This continues the story from book one, Beyond the Night, and this author does another wonderful job in keeping the story alive and fresh for the reader to enjoy. I fell in love with this series from the beginning and the second book was no exception. With a well rounded cast of characters you met in the first book back, some intriguing secondary characters to keep things going smoothly and many twists and turns to make you go “OH MY GOD!”, this author takes the reader on a whirl coaster of a ride from start to finish.
Meet Simon Japp, One of the Awakened Heroes who has a special power he keeps to himself. With a past that he feels guilty for and a determination to help the settlement of Envy defeat the Strangers and unravel the truth of what happened five decades ago, Simon will do just about anything to help, include go with the one woman who peaks his interest and stirs his desires. Sage Corrigan was born after the change and finds Simon intriguing as he was around before the big change has happened. A past full of pain, Sage is determined to help find the information her friends need to unravel the mysteries of the change and when a lead points her back to the one place she escaped from, Sage has no course except go back….this time with Simon. These two struck sparks in book one and I was thrilled to see them have their own story. Both are equally compelling as their dark pasts haunt them. I loved the way these two are together. They fit together perfectly and Ms. Ware does a wonderful job showing the author more of what happened to the world before and after the change in greater detail.
EMBRACE THE NIGHT ETERNAL is a fast paced story that will leave you eager for more. I highly suggest reading book one to get the full measure of who the reoccurring characters are and the back-story of what has happened. Ms. Ware is a masterful storyteller that will keep the reader glued to the edge of their seats and eager for more once the last page is read. I highly anticipate the next book in the series, Abandon the Night, and hope there will be more stories of Envy in the future.
