I was very excited to get this book to review. I have been following this new genre and have read some other steampunk stories and have enjoyed them very much. I was especially interested to see what Katie MacAlister would do with this theme. I have enjoyed many of her books so far. Well, I was not too disappointed. This is a fun story. At first you think that Jack and his sister have been transported to another time, but this is not the case. I thought that Ms. MacAlister has given her readers a good plot, interesting characters and some nice sizzling sexual tension. One thing kept me on my toes and that was that each chapter was told in the first person and it kept switching between Jack and Octavia. As I am a fast reader, it confused me sometimes. Other than that, it was an entertaining read and I hope Ms. MacAlister brings us back to the world she has created.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
