Sarah Price returned to Serenity with two kids, a battered self-esteem looking for a fresh start for herself and her kids. Supported by her best friends and her fellow Sweet Magnolias, Sarah finds the strength to face anything life has to throw at her and what it throws at her is Travis McDonald, sexy, infuriating and exactly what she needs. Travis has wanted Sarah since the first moment he met her. Trying to get past her insecurities is daunting but for Travis, he sees a woman who needs him and if he admits to himself, who he needs as well. Can Travis get the one woman he loves to take that leap of faith in him?

SWEET TEA AT SUNRISE is the next installment of the Sweet Magnolia series from the talented Sherryl Woods. With characters in the forefront, Ms. Woods delivers the best story to date in this series of the new generation of Sweet Magnolias. Some wonderful friends are what you find in this series when you open one of Ms. Woods’s books. You feel like you’re coming home after a long journey. I love the way the characters interconnect with one another, by family ties or friendship. Friendship is the key to this series and one that gives the reader a sense of what and who these people are. Tight writing, multi-dimensional characters and a fast paced storyline keep the reader’s attention from beginning to end. Add in a few twists that leave you humming with happiness, I was left aching for more once the last page was read.

Meet Sarah Price, a divorced mother of two who is trying to get her life back after a marriage that made her feel inadequate and quite a loser. With the help of her best friends and the Sweet Magnolias, Sarah has gotten her life on track and she is now determined to live again-just on her terms. Travis McDonald is a man who had it all as a professional baseball player for the Boston Red Sox. Women, money, a certain lifestyle but once his career ended and he moved to Serenity, he finds life changed when he wasn’t looking and it wasn’t too bad either. Sparks fly when Sarah and Travis are in the same room and before you know it, the sexual tension is heating up between them as Travis tries to show Sarah that all men are not slime while trying to court the one woman who has the power to break his heart. Man, these two are a set of characters I could really relate to. Both have insecurities and issues that have them making choices that may or may not work in their favor. I love these two together. Travis is the perfect foil for Sarah as she tries to deal with her insecurities and the overwhelming desire that he invokes within her. Does she or doesn’t she is the question when she finally faces the fact that she has fallen for him, heart, soul and mind. With some wonderful past characters from the other books in the series making their presence known throughout the book, the reader gets a sense of togetherness and family.

SWEET TEA AT SUNRISE is about romance, family, friendship, love and finally, acceptance. With the right amount of all of these, Ms. Woods delivers a story so delightful; you will want to move to Serenity just to experience it for yourself. If you haven’t read any of the previous Sweet Magnolia novels, I highly suggest you pick them up. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book, HONEYSUCKLE SUMMER, as we get a hint of what is to come in this one. If you enjoy a story that will leave you smiling in the end with a self satisfied feeling, than grab SWEET TEA AT SUNRISE and settle in for an evening of laughter, tears and sighs as you journey with Sarah and Travis as they fall in love in Serenity.
