Stone Hillyard is out on his own, kicked out of the one place he called home, in the dead of winter. Kicked out of the vehicle he was riding in, he spies a farmhouse in the distance and finds more than a place to warm up in but a place to call home. Preston Harding is angry at the world. Left in a wheelchair from a drunken driving accident, he pushes himself to try to walk while pushing those who want to help away. Stone and Preston meet when Preston comes to the farm for therapy riding lessons. What happens next will leave both either longing for the freedom to be what they are or accepting that they are not meant to be.
LOVE MEANS…FREEDOM is a wonderfully told story of two people dealing with injuries to the heart and body. Mr. Grey delivers a spellbinding story that will draw tears to your eyes and leave you breathless. I have read all the Love Means… stories and I wasn’t sure Mr. Grey could top the last one. In this case, he does with a tender, romantic story that will leave you smiling at the end. This is an author who really knows his characters and slowly brings the reader into his web with each story. Detailed characters, smoothly told story and a fast pace keep the reader glued to the pages, eager to see what happens next for Stone and Preston.
Meet Stone Hillyard, a young man of nineteen, out on his own in the middle of a blizzard. Stumbling upon Geoff and Eli’s farm, he is taken in and warmed up; expecting to be tossed out once the storm is done. What he finds instead is acceptance and a job there. When he is asked to help with a therapy class, he finds himself drawn to Preston even as he despises the arrogant jerk. Preston hates being in a wheelchair and is determined to walk again. Arrogant, egotistic and a royal pain in the butt is Preston to Stone. Called on it, Preston is humbled that Stone calmed Geoff down and let him continue his lessons. Thus begins a journey into dislike, acceptance, and desire to finally romance. These two characters were a perfect foil for one another. Both had demons and issues to deal with-one physical, the other of the heart. The pace was slow and gradual as the build up between the two men and I enjoyed how they finally got past that awful first impression and hurt feelings. Some of the past characters from past books continue to pop up making me grin as they impart wisdom as they show Preston and Stone the way a relationship works between two people.
LOVE MEANS…FREEDOM is a wonderful tale that will leave you smiling afterwards and itching for another story. There is enough conflict, natural events happening to keep the story moving along smoothly and I enjoyed how these two finally admitted they love one another. Mr. Grey is a talented author who delivers character rich stories each time and every time I open one of this author’s books up, I feel like I am coming home for a visit. If you haven’t checked this author’s books out, I highly recommend you do so. Andrew Grey is a phenomenal storyteller who will hit your emotions and steal your heart every time. LOVE MEANS…FREEDOM is another wonderful story for him and one I plan to read again.
