Lady Fiona Jardine was said to be a woman no man could control, but she believes the handsome Will Jardine will make a great husband. Fiona elopes with Will, but after a short time he shows her his true identity. So when her womanizing husband disappears, she’s wondering if he’s dead and worries about protection, when the old Laird dies and she learns she’s pregnant with the heir.

Sir Richard Seyton is honor bound to be her guardian until her husband is found.
Richard, the Laird of Kirkhill, is all that is between Fiona and the enemies who covet her land and the gold the old Laird had hidden.

As tension escalates along the Border lands, they draw closer but know they could both end up dead.

Richard and Fiona’s tale is based on a two hundred year old story, making the novel feel very authentic. The characters are well drawn and the setting feels very authentic. Richard is a man most women would like to wed with his gallant ways. Fiona finds a passion with Richard she never had with Will and hopes they find him soon, dead or alive. The language suits the era and the story has many twists and turns, as Fiona and Richard try to control the desire igniting whenever the two are near.

It was an enjoyable read with interesting dialogue and plenty of action, as they search for Will and the men who would kill Fiona and her babe.

TEMPTED BY A WARRIOR was an interesting book to read if you enjoy historical romance in the hills and valleys of Scotland.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
