Ship-wrecked and wounded, Major Logan Montieth wakes to find himself in a strange bed and has no idea who he is or where he is. His instincts tell him to run, but his body won’t allow that to happen, especially after seeing his hostess. His loss of memory is the worst part, as he has no idea who has injured him, but has the feeling there is danger following him.

Linnet Trevission is almost entranced by her injured guest after washing and tending to his multiple injuries. To her his handsome face and sculpted body combine to take her peace of mind away. She runs her estate with the help of those she has rescued over the years, but has never met a man like Logan before.

When the men and boys she cares for begin to take advice from Logan, she begins to wonder how her life will be when he leaves.

THE BRAZEN BRIDE is a great story with a mix of adventure on land and sea. The very handsome and fascinating hero Logan Monteith is in trouble from the first page, plus he also seems to attract it in different forms throughout the book. The heroine Linnet is also a very unpredictable for a woman in the 1800’s, as she can wield weapons, and encourage others to follow her, in an extremely interesting way. The motley crew on board the ship and the people she has gathered around her make this story very interesting.

Superbly written sensual love scenes add a passionate edge to this sexy romance. The delightful hero woos the heroine in a most intriguing way, she feels he’s dangerous, but never the less lets him lead her astray. Ms. Laurens has written an incredibly addictive page turner, with characters that will resonate in the mind long after you reach the end.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
