When Maddoc gets a free pass to the local gym, he decides to try it. If anything, to get him strong so he cannot be afraid anymore. Meeting Ivan at the gym was a bonus in his mind. A hunky ex-marine, Ivan is a wet dream to any gay man and soon they are falling for one another. But can Maddoc and Ivan find out who is stalking Maddoc before it gets too dangerous?
I absolutely loved SPOT ME, the first book in this series. Now in PUMP ME UP, we meet Maddoc and Ivan, two people who are perfect for each other. Andrew Grey is a master storyteller. His stories have heart and the characters fairly leap off the pages to completely captivate you. The writing is tight; the romance moves at a nice pace and the secondary characters we meet had me laughing at times.
Meet Maddoc, a man who is dealing with a stalker who has him scared out of his wits. Using the pass for a local fitness center, he meets up with a few friends from work and spies a man who makes him drool. Ivan is a man who could have anyone, he was that good looking and he was interested in Maddoc. Ivan is an ex-marine who is drawn to Maddoc when he meets him at the gym. Having mutual friends helps break the ice between them and things move along nicely until Ivan finds out about Maddoc’s stalker problem. Determined to show Maddoc how to be able to defend himself, he grows closer to the man and Ivan finds himself falling in love. Can he help Maddoc stop the stalker before it gets deadly for Maddoc? I loved the way these two complimented each other. They were both sexy in their own way and Maddoc made me want to make him a cup of tea to soothe his strained nerves. Ivan is protective and determined to help Maddoc and that made me swoon. Who doesn’t enjoy a strong man to lean on sometimes? This is an author who really knows his characters and delights in creating some memorable ones at that. The secondary characters helped keep the story moving along nicely and added the overall enjoyment of the book.
PUMP ME UP is a wonderful story to read on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Full of delightful characters that take center stage and keep you highly entertained, Andrew Grey is one of my ultimate favorite M/M authors on the market today. Each of his books steals your heart and I know I will definitely be reading this one again in the future. If you haven’t tried out one of this author’s books then I highly suggest you get onboard right away. Andrew Grey is one author who won’t disappoint a reader when they pick up one of his books.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
