DAEMON’S REVENGE is a hot, erotic short story that will leave you panting in arousal and ready to jump your significant other. Ms. Karland is a wonderful storyteller who really pushes the boundaries with her stories to the delight of this reader. I love the writing style of this author and found her introduction to the Darkling series to be one full of hot, erotic passion that will singe your fingertips from the first page to the last.

Meet Ariel, a woman who wants something more from her vampire lover, Daemon. She wants him to lose control and give it to her hard, fast and with a little kink thrown in as well. After hinting on what she desires and not seeing anything from it, she made the error of pushing him to give her what she wants. Finding out her vampire lover is just as turned on as she was a plus but what happens when, in the end, he wants to end it all and break her heart? Ariel and Daemon have a “friends with benefits” sort of relationship and Ariel is a woman I can see myself friends with. She is independent, not afraid to let her lover know what she desires and then finding a way to get it from him. The dynamics between Daemon and Ariel are tinged with love, respect and lots of hot molten passion that sizzles when they are together. The author does a great job in letting the reader know their hearts and souls in this short story. The secondary characters kept the story flowing smoothly and the sex scenes fairly sizzled on my computer screen.

DAEMON’S REVENGE is a hot little story to get you in the mood and I had one small issue in that I would have loved to see this as a longer story, to see how Ariel and Daemon got together. If you are looking for a hot story to enjoy one afternoon, I highly recommend this introduction to the Darkling series. I just advise having a bucket of ice or your significant other nearby to help cool you down afterwards.
