Almost destroyed while being attacked in the Alaskan wilderness, Jenna Darrow finds herself changed in many ways she doesn’t understand. Taken to the vampires Boston Order unwillingly at first, for shelter and healing, she soon begins to understand their mission. When she gets to know the handsome, broody, dark-eyed Brock, Jenna finds herself longing for more than the healing in his hands.
Brock has helped her survive and is pledged to keep her safe. When passion brings him a physical relationship with Jenna, he tries hard to dismiss his feelings. But Jenna finds not only healing and comfort.
A reign of terror will come soon, if they can’t find and destroy the vampire and its assassins who want to enslave the whole earth.
TAKEN BY MIDNIGHT, is a dark story with very interesting characters and a great setting. The vampires are not the usual fanged murderers, but doing a job under their leader, Lucan. Their chosen female mates are also dedicated to their men and the work they do.
Brock, the main hero in this story is a man with a haunted past, who feels he doesn’t deserve happiness. Along with the self-doubting heroine, who feels she has no right to be alive, not realizing they would make a formidable team. The Vampires and their mates are high-tech and brought to life really well. The sex scenes are hot and very, very believable. I loved this book and will look forward to reading more, about The Orders head, Lucan and his interesting warriors.
