Emma is an up and coming star. Her voice mesmerizes and she is now in Hong Kong to sing at a venue that is exhibiting a priceless diamond. Her manager/boyfriend is pulling all the strings to get her into the papers and more gigs. He manages not only her career, but tells her what to eat, when to sleep and what to wear. She is, in other words, a pushover. Until she meets Jack and he steals a kiss from her.
Jack is a busy man. He wants to steal the diamond and be rid of Li, the daughter of the leader of a Chinese triad. He is more than busy, because when he kisses Emma for luck, she not only tastes of cherries, but she tastes of forever and he is so not a forever kind of a guy.

Things go horribly wrong when it turns out that Emma is wearing the diamond for her performance. Now, Jack not only steals the diamond, but Emma too. And Emma is about to steal his heart.

Amy Redwood has written a very entertaining story. In some parts I wanted to hit Emma over the head for being such a pushover. But I cheered as she learned to stand up for herself and realized, she doesn’t have to let people walk all over her. The romance between Jack and Emma fairly sizzles and the sexual tension is hot. The suspense kept me turning the pages to see just how Jack ticked and to see if he was really a bad boy or a saint in disguise. I especially wanted to see how it all worked out in the end and if Emma and Jack get their happy ending. There are various secondary characters that give the story more depth and I enjoyed the dialogue between the main characters.

I can recommend this book and I would definitely like to read more from this talented author. Be warned though, there are some explicit sex scenes in this story but they come naturally and don’t distract from the overall story.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
