Jezebeth, a succubus is out one night hunting. She needs the sexual energy to survive. While getting close to a likely ‘victim’, she’s attacked by a demon. Things aren’t going so well when a handsome human comes to her rescue. Together they get rid of the demon and are now on the run. It seems that he is to escort her back to Lilith her queen as there is a mighty powerful demon after her and her sisters.
Noah Halston is really a horror story writer. One day, during his research, he spoke a summoning spell out loud and summoned, Lilith. Now he owes her and she has commanded him to find Jezebeth, protect her and bring her back to Lilith’s lair. If he fails, then it’s an eternity of torture. Thing is, Noah is falling for the sexy succubus, but she could kill him if he gives in to the attraction.
This is quite an exciting, action-packed story that will pull you in and keep you interested until the last page. Cassie Ryan has quite a vivid imagination and builds a world of demons, angels, succubus, incubus and other paranormal creatures who all live and work among our world today. Ms Ryan cleverly uses biblical lore and gives her readers a story that is quite believable. I loved her characters. Jezebeth is, although immortal, quite human in her thoughts and actions. Noah is at first repulsed by Jez, but it doesn’t take long to find out they have a lot in common. We also meet Uriel, the arch-angel Michael, Raphael and Gabriel. I was particularly enthralled by the relationship between Uriel and Lilith. Of course, I have to tell you, this is a hot, sensuous, romantic story that will heat up those cold winter nights.
