Gabriel Callahan has come to Eternity Springs for the solitude, after losing all he held dear he’s become a recluse. He feels raw inside as if somebody has cut out the essential parts, which made him whole. The local vet, Nic Sullivan, meets Gabe when he brings in a young dog he rescued from a trap. The dog is fixed up by Nic, then it seems to want to be with Gabe, but he’s not having anything to do with it.

Nic is determined to lure him back into the real world, but she has a very big job on her hands. Her friends all try to keep him busy helping to renovate what will become a spa. At Christmas Nic visits Gabe, and unexpectedly they have a very hot sex session. When Gabe realizes what has happened, he gets Nic out of the house, then sits and broods.

ANGEL’S REST is a complex tale of love, redemption, believing in love and letting the past go. Gabe is filled with pain and regret for those he loved and lost, blaming himself instead of realizing there are some things in life which can never be avoided. The main characters are interesting and the story is filled with an assortment of fun people, who bring the story to life in a vibrant way. Sage, Celeste and Sarah make Nic and Gabe’s story stronger, as they support each other with love and help whenever needed. The dog in this delightful tale is an interesting animal. He seems to have a mind of his own as he keeps his eye on the family he’s adopted. The town of Eternity nestles in a valley, surrounded by mountains and sounds as if it could be an ideal place to go, if you need to rest a while, or find love and acceptance.
