Dirk & Steele agent, Blue Perrineau is on a tough case when he gets word his father is dead. Running back to the family home he finds his father alive and well, determined to get Blue to do what he wants-to find the brother Blue never knew he had. Blue’s search leads him to Las Vegas and from there things get interesting. Meeting Iris McGillis was something he never anticipated. She is sexy, mysterious and has an affinity for the most dangerous of beasts. But secrets surround Iris and the man who is her champion as danger stalks their every move. Can Blue and Iris find a way to work together and trust in one another to beat back the danger and survive to see where their hearts lead them?

I love Ms. Liu’s Dirk and Steele series a lot. She weaves a spell around her readers with each book and you never know where the story may lead you with all the twists tossed in. The storyline moves smoothly, the characters are intriguing and the writing is tight. EYE OF HEAVEN is a swept up roller coaster of a ride for readers to enjoy and one I could not put down-even to sleep.

Blue Perrineau hates his father with a passion. Rejected by his only family, he becomes a member in the special agency, Dirk & Steele. Getting word that his nefarious father is dead, he returns to the family home only to discover it was all a ruse just to get Blue home. Blue’s father, Felix Perrineau, is determined for Blue to find Felix’s other son, Blue’s half brother. I have got to admit I hated Felix with a passion. He was a jerk, stuck up and annoying but I have got to admit the character of Felix made for a great catalyst for Blue to go find him. That started the story off with a bang. Iris was a wonderful strong character that I loved the moment she stepped onto the stage-no pun intended. She was sassy, tough and hiding secrets that intrigued Blue the moment he laid eyes on her. The secondary characters are just as entertaining and I am eager to see if they pop up in future Dirk and Steele novels.

EYE OF HEAVEN is a fast paced paranormal thrill ride from start to finish. I want to warn you that the first few chapters are slow as the storyline introduces everyone but stick with it as the action really jumps half way through the book and doesn’t let up until the very last page is read. Ms. Liu is a talented author who knows how to captivate her readers with each book. I look forward to seeing what else she comes up with in this wonderful series. If you are looking for a great new series to explore, try Ms. Liu’s Dirk & Steele series. It is a perfect way to relax on a summer night.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
