The latest book in Marjorie M. Liu’s Dirk & Steele series, SOUL SONG, hits the perfect chord with its perfect blend of romance, suspense and fantasy.

Violinist Kitala Bell has been gifted (or cursed as some would see it) with the ability to see the future of people who will one day die a violent death. In order to escape this scary foresight, she keeps on the move performing concerts for her large fan base. One night, she has a vision of a woman at her concert with a knife in her skull and feels compelled to warn her, even though warning the people in her visions in the past hasn’t turned out so good for Kitala or the people she has warned. Suddenly, she has the police, a soul eating witch and a sexy merman all hot on her trail.

Marjorie M. Liu’s fast paced and fantasy-filled SOUL SONG had this reader captivated from the first note. The hero, a musically talented seer of violent deaths and the equally talented singing merman sent to kill her for an evil soul stealing witch are a match made in mystery.

How Liu manages to balance this multifaceted plot line with intricate character development is anyone’s guess. But manage it she does, and splendidly at that. Kitala has to free her merman from the magical chains binding him to a wicked witch, put a halt to the witch’s evil schemes and save her soul while being chased by equally evil cops and fitting in a little romantic time on the side. This makes for non-stop action.

Fans of fantasy, adventure and sexy heroes are sure to enjoy Marjorie M. Liu’s SOUL SONG as much as this reader did. Don’t miss out on your chance for a little escape into a truly magical journey of discovery. Pick up your copy today.
