Elizabeth accidently awoke the Ancient vampire Saloman and due to her ancestral bloodline is a vampire hunter. Now she is on the track of a fellow ancestor who is visiting Scotland. He is a distant cousin from America and a famous film star. Still, she gets to meet him and warn him about Saloman. Her cousin tells her he has a sword in his possession. A sword that he doesn’t want to sell or give up. It just so happens that this sword belongs to Saloman and he wants it back. He is not the only one who is after the sword. There is a legend attached to it and someone wants to find out if the legend is true. It looks like the hunters may need to work with Saloman to stop certain parties from obtaining this sword. And Elizabeth will have to choose her own loyalties.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Awakened By Blood series. Even more, Saloman is a mystery. Is he a good vampire or a bad one? When it comes to Elizabeth, he is very good, but his enemies have much to fear from him. Marie Treanor has written a vampire story that is full of twists and turns, life-like characters, an engaging plot and a romance that is sensual and romantic. I love her writing style. It’s unpretentious and this talented author has a very natural voice that makes reading her books a joy. I like the emotions she brings out, the dialogue, which is witty and again, very natural. You can imagine the characters before you seeing them speaking. So far, this series is staying on my keeper shelf for a reread in the near future. I am really looking forward to the third book which is coming out soon! I recommend you don’t miss it!

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
