Becca Robins makes and sells homemade jams and preserves at the farmers’ market. Her friend, Linda, asks her to be the maid of honor at her wedding and Becca is happy to comply. The wedding will have a farmers’ market theme and for Becca this should be easy. But Linda’s mother-in-law is murdered before the wedding and a local merchant goes missing. Police officer, Sam Brion needs Becca’s help and supports her in solving the crime. The suspects include family members and bank clients as Linda’s mother-in-law was not a very well liked bank owner. As Becca carries out her investigation, she finds things very wrong in the bank and the list of suspects start to dwindle. Can she find the murderer in time?

I do enjoy a nice cozy mystery and this one was really good. Unfortunately I haven’t read the first in the series and I need to remedy that. I really liked Becca and although she did have a bit of a love interest with Ian but I was rooting more for Sam, the police officer. Maybe in future books, he will come more to the fore. We see Becca get into all sorts of jams and pickles and among the more exciting parts there are some humor bits thrown in too. This author has written a wonderful story with great characters amid scenes of a farmers’ market that will warm your heart. This is a great read to curl up on the sofa with on a cool fall evening and I can highly recommend it for those of you who enjoy a delightful cozy mystery.
