Ysolde de Bouchier never knew that dragon love would be so difficult. First she’s still finding out about the dragon part of her. She still has visions, but they have changed. Her mate, Baltic isn’t being much of a help. He’s holding things back and even though he wants to protect her, it’s all very frustrating. Baltic just wants things to stay as they are, but they can’t. For Ysolde has taken it upon herself to clear Baltic’s name of a crime he didn’t commit. She also wants the Light Dragen Sept to be reinstated into the weyr. She also needs to get the spell that is holding back her magic lifted and, if that wasn’t all, she rescues a half-dragon lady. Life is not boring for Ysolde.

This is a very entertaining story that fans and non-fans alike will enjoy. I love how Ms. MacAlister gives her stories the right amount of humor to keep things from getting too dark. Here we have a couple who are very definitely together and the depth of their relationship shows through. Baltic usually ends up giving in to Ysolde after a bit of arguing and Ysolde keeps the story going with all of her adventures. This author has produced a story with a plot that keeps you turning those pages. This can be read as a stand-alone story but I am sure you will want to read the previous dragon books to get the full idea of the lore inside. This is an all round good read with great characters, a good plot, snappy dialogue and even though it doesn’t all quite end, I really enjoyed it.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
