Please give a warm welcome to author Honoria Ravena today.

Contest: Leave a comment for Honoria and you are in the running for a PDF copy of The Darkness Trap, her newest book. Contest ends February 10th and please leave your email address in case you win.

To get us started can you tell us a little about what you are working on or have coming out? The Devil’s Trap was released at the end of December. It’s about a vampire hunter who falls for the vampire she’s been paid to kill.

If someone hasn't read any of your work, what book would you recommend that they start with and why?

I’d recommend starting with Fear of Darkness, just because it is the first, and I always like to start at the beginning. It introduces my world, and what not. But all my books do stand alone, so you can really start anywhere.

If you could entertain a character from a book, who would it be and what would the evening be like?
I think it would have to be Lachlain from A Hunger Like No Other by Kresley Cole. He’s been alive for like a thousand years, so I’d want to ask about all the things he must have seen and what it was like way back when. He also appreciates a good steak, which I’ve been craving lately.

What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
I’m kind of picky about how I write. I like to be sitting at a desk, with both my feet on the floor, and I’d never sit like that unless I was writing. I like to drink tea when I write, even though I’m more of a coffee drinker. I don’t know. I think tea is more relaxing than coffee, and just lets me sink into writing a little easier than being wound for sound. I honestly prefer writing on paper than at the computer, but the computer is sooo much easier, because I don’t have to retype things when I’m done. I have to be picky about my music choices because I’ll just dance or sing if it’s not right. I can’t have any toys around me, because I play with them. I guess I live the life of the ADD writer.

What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
If you had a reporter follow you around for the day, what would the readers get to see in your daily schedule? They’d get a lot of lectures from my esthetics class. They’d get to eat CRAPPY cafeteria food with me. And maybe see me do a facial or some waxing. On the weekends it’s been all about shopping and catching up on anything I didn’t have time to do over the week like writing and work. It’s kind of a really boring life right now.
What does your workstation look like?Well, let’s see. The desk (where I prefer to write) is currently covered in cosmetics both in my dorm and at home, so I’ve been working on my bed. Though, my roommate left at the dorm, so if I don’t get another I will have two desks, and I can write at one have make up spread out all over the other.
Are you the type of individual who gets weepy at the end of a good movie, or a sad movie, or do you just stay neutral through it all?  Weepy, definitely. Even with a happy ending it’s just like “That’s so beautiful!” *sniffle*. It’s kind of pathetic.

What are you working on now?
My skin therapist license while I minor in watching TV shows on Hulu? I have to admit I’ve been a bad writer lately. School has been hectic, and after school I don’t feel like doing much of anything. I’m going to try and be better, because I have the time, but being in school from 8am-5pm three days a week makes me super lazy. When I do work I’m rewriting Bad Animals, which is Laedan’s story. You meet him in The Devil’s Trap.

Where can readers find you on the web? www.honoriaravena.com
I’m also on Facebook and Twitter.

For fun:

What is your favorite pizza? Right now its pepperoni and onions. That changes all the time though.

What is one thing scientists should invent? Some true space travel. Let’s get off this rock already.

Are you a morning person or a night person? Night person! Mornings are impossible, no matter how much sleep I’ve gotten. I could go to bed at 8pm, and would still feel like crap when I got up at 7am.

When you looked in the mirror this morning, what was the first thing you thought? “Eeew, look at my hair.” You’re not supposed to wash your hair every day. It’s a beauty rule, but I do, so whenever I skip a day and use a dry shampoo like I’m supposed to I always feel disgusting. And don’t freak out, I do shower every day, you’re just not supposed to wash your hair every time you shower.

Regan is the best vampire hunter money can buy. But when she's paid to kill one of the most powerful vampires in existence, she doesn't realize she's in way over her head. Things go terribly wrong, and there is no escape...

Zarek is so powerful, he scares other vampires. One little hunter should be no challenge. However, Regan is different, and as soon as he sees her, he will do anything to keep her. But she's a stubborn woman who refuses to let someone else control her.

When a powerful enemy comes to town, she's forced to trust Zarek with her life. Who is the larger threat? The man out to destroy humankind? Or the vampire determined to own her heart?

Hello Honoria,

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to spend with the Readers of Love Romances & More, I really enjoyed your Interview. Congrats on the release of your new Book, “The Devil's Trap: In Darkness We Dwell, Book 2”. I found out about you & your giveaway from a post on one of my Yahoo News Group, Love Romances Cafe & I am so glad I did look further.

Honoria you are a new Author to me, but you will definitely NOT be new anymore! I have to tell you the posted Excerpt of “The Devil's Trap” on Breathless Press & the first 2 Chapters on your website had me right on the edge!!!!!

OMG especially Chapter 2….Wow that was one Sizzlin’, Darkly Erotic Chapter, even from the first couple of sentences I thought I was going to have to fan myself just to cool off. ;)

Honoria your writing is so amazing; as I was reading it felt like I was pulled right into Zarek’s Club, experiencing the scene as it unfolded. I could really “feel” the sexual tension between Regan & Zarek, the conflict of emotions Regan was feeling toward Zarek, obviously confusing her.

I LOVE Paranormal Books (but I suppose you never would have guessed from my email name lol) & read A LOT in that Genre….but again, all I can say is WOW, Honoria you were able to blow me away on just 2 Chapters. You have definitely gained a Fan & I will be keeping my eyes open by checking your website for any new releases that you may have coming out. “The Devil's Trap: In Darkness We Dwell, Book 2” & Fear of Darkness (In Darkness We Dwell) will be on my “To Buy” List!

Unfortunately I cannot keep updated through Facebook or Twitter because I am not a member of either social groups but I did became a Goggle Follower of Come Hither Pumps under my name of PaParanormalFan.

I would very much appreciate the opportunity for a chance to at your giveaway for a PDF copy of “The Devil’s Trap”. Thank You.

Take Care & Have a Great Weekend,
