For Cassandra Palmer, defeating a god should have gotten you a few days off, which would have worked if Cassandra wasn’t the Pythia, the world’s clairvoyant. Cassie is busier than ever as she juggles her clairvoyant work with her complicated relationship with vampire Mircea and trying to figure out her powers. Sometimes a girl needs a break. But danger looms as someone wants to stop Cassie from ascending to her place as Pythia and will go to any length to stop her…even to making sure that she will never be born. Cassie must try to figure out who wants her gone and to save the world-again.

I have got to admit this was one awesome ride from start to finish. Lots of twists, turns and action as Cassie is on her way to being crowned the Pythia as Mircea has her guarded 24/7 as well as all these self-defense classes Cassie is in, it’s enough to make a girl’s head spin trying to keep up. I really enjoyed the character dynamics in HUNT THE MOON. You have got Cassie, a reluctant Pythia who has relationship issues like any normal girl and someone who always seems to want to kill her. The confusion Cassie feels over her relationship with Mircea makes her quite relatable. Who hasn’t wondered where you stood with a significant other? We get more insight into his feelings for Cassie even as the sparks that fly between Cassie and Pritikin had me almost switching camps and rooting for Cassie to be with him instead. This is an author who knows this world intimately and lets the reader delve into it, one page at a time. The writing is tight, the twists had me on the edge of my seat flipping the pages eager to see what happens next for Cassie and the gang and when I hit the end, I was shocked by it all. I won’t give it away but the ending will leave you shocked to the core.

Ms. Chance is a talented storyteller who knows how to draw her readers in and spin her web around them until the very end of the book. HUNT THE MOON is one spine tingling story that left me reeling and wanting more. Thank god I don’t have to wait for the next book and I can’t wait to see what happens next for Cassie, Mircea and the rest of this wonderful cast of characters. If you are looking for an engrossing tale to enjoy on a lazy summer afternoon, grab HUNT THE MOON and settle in for a world that leaves you breathless.
