Ivy is a vampire hunter in Chicago and Christopher is a vampire Enforcer the two could not be anymore different or from different sides yet they must find a way to work together to defeat the ancient evil that has come to town. Ivy dismisses Christopher’s offer for protection after all she is a hunter. Yet the attraction between the two will not be ignored. Christopher finds himself looking for more than to just find and beat the bad guy. Can the two put their differences aside and work together or will it only help them fail?

I really enjoyed my visit into Ivy and Christopher’s world. Fast paced and full of emotion this book is a great read. Watching the sparks ignite and grow into the flames of love was a wonderful thing to see. Ivy is a strong woman who knows just what needs to be done and is not afraid to do it. Christopher is a good man who struggles to find out where he will go from here. He finds that he now longs for so much more than just defeating the evil. I enjoyed seeing the two work through their struggles, alone and together they fight through so much and learn to trust and even love on another. While Christopher and Ivy are great characters the secondary ones make themselves known as well and I hope that we get to return to this world and see more from them.

I am a big fan of this series and although this can be read as a stand alone, one should read the rest of the books to get a better understanding of the world Christopher and Ivy belong to. The author does a good job of mixing the action and romance together and keeping me entertained throughout the book.
