Lady Andrena MacFarlan always knew she was different from everyone else. She could sense other people’s most innermost desires and it was a power she doesn’t like at times. She knows her duty-to marry the man who will help her father regain his rightful place as chiefdom of their clan but Andrena doesn’t anticipate the one man who would steal her heart and ignite flames of passion between them. Magnus Galbraith is injured and has never met a woman like Lady Adrena. She can enflame him in many ways while calming him down. An unusual yet beautiful woman, Magnus finds he is drawn to her in ways that consumes him even as he tries to keep his distance from her. But as Magnus finds a way to revenge his brother and protect his king, Andrena could be the one person to tilt the battle in their favor or the one that will cause much chaos.

Ms. Scott delivers a story full of enthralling characters, a lush storyline filled with magical powers, mysteries and more. With the stroke of her pen, this author delivers a story that will intrigue you till the very end. I loved the fantasy or magical end of this story immensely. Sometimes historical stories are very dry, filled with facts and whatnot but in THE LAIRD’S CHOICE, you get magical power that can doom a country or be its salvation. It was an interesting twist in the storyline that had me on the edge of my seat.

The characters are well written, intriguing and at times, feel like they could come alive at any given moment, to step off the pages and into my living room. The author delivers two main characters that steal your heart right from the first page. Magnus is strong, on a mission to avenge his brother and a woman who could be his biggest ally or his ultimate downfall. The sparks flying between Magnus and Andrena had me eager to see if they could overcome the odds in the end and be together. I was also very curious about Andrena’s power. The way the author portrayed it in the story had me wondering if the heroine would be able to harness that power or would it consume her in the end. The secondary characters kept the story moving along nicely and there was a few that I hope to see in future books of the Lairds of the Loch series.

THE LAIRD’S CHOICE is the introduction to the Lairds of the Loch series and it is one story you don’t want to miss. Full of magic, passion and more, Ms. Scott delivers a spellbinding story to lose yourself into on a cold winter’s afternoon. I look forward to seeing where the author goes in this series in the next book.
This is an objective review and not an endorsement
