Tinch Turner is trying to get
on with his life after losing his beloved wife. He spends his nights drunk,
brooding and fighting; anything to forget his sadness and loss. But when one
too many fights land him in the ER, he finds himself meeting the new doctor in
town, Addison Spencer. He is intrigued by the pretty doctor even though she
wants nothing to do with him or any man for that matter. That is until a little
boy steals not just Addison’s heart but also Tinch’s as well. Meanwhile in
Harmony, Regan Truman is still grieving over her beloved uncle’s death and
finding out when one life ends, another begins when the Wright Funeral Home
celebrates a new baby, the first in over forty years.
I adore Ms. Thomas’s Harmony,
Texas series immensely. In her fourth book, we meet some new characters as well
as catch up on some of our favorites as well. Ms. Thomas’s Harmony, Texas
series is one full of endearing characters, storylines that steal the heart and
romance that makes you breathless. What
I love about this series is how the reader gets to see how the town is,
fall in love with everyone there and finds themselves longing to go to Harmony,
Texas. This is a series that the author knows intimately and it shows in her
stories set within this small town. The writing is tight, story flows nicely
and the characters are very well written.
In Harmony, Texas, you get
all kinds of people but for Addison Spencer and Tinch Turner, a second chance
at love and family scares the pants off of them. Both have issues that stem
from their past but when a little boy is on their doorstep, it just might be
the means for these two to find it in them to forgive and move on. Addison and
Tinch have some serious sparks even as they try to stay away from one another.
All the characters-main and secondary ones-are very well written and capture
each of their personalities, vulnerabilities and more perfectly within the
pages of JUST DOWN THE ROAD. I really enjoyed meeting some new friends
as well as catching up with a few old ones from past books.
If you enjoy heartwarming
tales set in a small town, then you will enjoy the Harmony, Texas series by
Jodi Thomas. I highly recommend this series for those looking for a pick me up
after a hard day. You don’t need to read them in order but I highly recommend
you do so just to get the feel of the entire series. I can’t wait to see what
happens next in Harmony and who may be visiting the town.
