Talking with Megan Slayer today

Welcome to Love Romances & More Reviews Megan Slayer. Comfortable? Let’s begin, shall we?

How would you describe yourself using only five words?
Noisy, brash, inquisitive, shy and blue.

Do you have any guilty pleasures?
Apparently I’ve developed a taste of Cool Whip Frosting. Never thought that would happen. I love the chocolate kind better than the vanilla. That and Skinny Cow Caramel chocolates. When I finish a big chunk of one of my stories or get to the end of a part that’s been giving me trouble, I reward myself with one of the little three packs of the Skinny Cow candies. Good incentive!

If we asked your muse to describe you using five words, what do you think they would say?
I’ve got two muses. One’s a guy and one’s a girl. I asked them to work on this together. They’ve come up with: stubborn, twisted, pushy, introverted and aggravating. Have I mentioned we have a love/hate relationship? I love them when they are talking and we bicker when they won’t.

Name one thing readers would be surprised to know about you.
I can drive a tractor, but stick shift vehicles are a mystery to me. I’ve tried to learn, but apparently I can’t get the rhythm of driving stick shift. But I’m wicked good on a tractor.

If you could collaborate with one author who would it be?
Actually I’ve been lucky to work with a lot of great authors. Cheryl Dragon, Stephanie Burke and I worked on the Out of Bounds Anthology coming soon from Total-E-Bound. That was fun. Football hunks in love. Grin. I’ve also worked with Virginia Nelson on a mm series that’s still in the works. Two stories are done and more planned. If I had my druthers, I’d also love to work with KA Mitchell or Jayne Rylon. Love their work. But there are so many people I’d want to work with, it’s hard to nail down just one.

Do you have a book that was easiest to write or one that was the hardest?
Apparently I’m good with deadlines. If you’ve have asked me when I was in school, I’d have laughed. I hated deadlines. But, I’m that person who hates turning things in at the last minute. I know, I’m good at forgetting stuff, but I hate being late. The books that are the easiest to write are the ones where I’ve got to knuckle down and get working. Hot Laps was one of those books. The deadline was POOF! Right there. Had to get it done. So, I did. But then there are others, like Drive My Car. That one I had lots of time and I think the muses knew it. They goofed around and didn’t let those characters chatter. Sucked until I HAD to get it done. Then it was like they said, oh, you’re under the gun? Well, we’ll be nice. Yep, my muses are brats.

What can readers expect next from you?
The next in my Haven House Vampires series just released from Changeling Press and is called Destined. In May, my next Razor’s Edge title, Watch Me (a Challenges story) comes out. May also is the release month for my Olympic story, Vaulting. Male gymnasts steaming up the gym! This summer will see the release of the next Track Domination book, Running Hot. Also out this summer will be Razor’s Edge: Film Me, Switching Gears – Track Domination Book 3, Sweet and Wild – Glow Band Book 7, Forever Wicked: Lily – featuring Tiger Lily, John and Michael, as well as the Out of Bounds Anthology, and Living on My Own, coming from MLR Press.
Whew! That’s a lot. Grin.

Hot Laps by Megan Slayer
Resplendence Publishing
Track Domination, Book 1
MM, Anal Sex, BDSM, Toys, Spanking
Racing hearts and race trucks…things happen fast on track.

Adam Lowry is known in the racing community as the best crew chief. He doesn’t pull punches or put up with diva antics from drivers no matter what. But there is one man he never quite got over. Will Camden, his former lover and now the latest addition of the Flash Racing team.

All Will Camden needed was a second chance to prove he’s got what it takes to race with the big dogs in the truck series. When he’s asked to fill in for another driver at Flash, he’s determined to make the best of the situation. Knowing his ex is his crew chief is bonus points.

Can they make the jump from being a solid team on the track to solid in bed or will they crash and burn before the end of the race?

Want to know more about Megan?

When she's not writing the stories in her head, Megan Slayer can be found luxuriating in her hot tub with her two vampire Cabana boys, Luke and Jeremy. She has the tendency to run a tad too far with her muse, so she has to hide in the head of her alter ego, but the boys don't seem to mind.

When she’s not obsessing over her whip collection, she can be found picking up her kidlet from school. She enjoys writing in all genres, but writing about men in love suits her fancy best. The cabana boys are willing to serve, unless she needs them. She always need them. So be nice to Javier or he will bite--on command.

She also masquerades under the name Wendi Zwaduk and is published through Changeling Press, Decadent Publishing , Liquid Silver Books, MLR Press, Resplendence Publishing, and Total-E-Bound Publishing.
