Gabriella Castle just had the rug taken out from under her. Alone, pregnant, jobless, staying with her gram at Ocean Breeze shoreline sounds like the perfect place to retreat to and make some serious decisions for her future. She never anticipated having Wade Johnson to make things so clear, to help in whatever way he can. But is there love in the cards for this complicated woman and laid back carpenter? Wade will need to show Gabi that love can be the strongest gift of all between two people…that is if they trust themselves to take that leap.

I really enjoy Sherryl Woods’s books and her second novel in her new Ocean Breeze Series, we find Gabriella Castle now the focus of her grandmother’s matchmaking even as she tries to figure out the mess her life is now in. The story flows at a nice even pace, the writing is tight and the setting is quite lush. I loved how this author does more than just tell a reader about it, instead she captures the essence of the North Carolina shoreline within the story and left me longing to visit it myself. The characters are enjoyable if at times a bit predictable. I love the characters here in WIND CHIME POINT but I really was hoping Gabriella would let Wade twist a bit before all the romance came into play towards the end of the book. But overall the charming cast of characters made up for that small issue I had with Gabi.

Meet Gabriella ‘Gabi’ Castle. She is a the daughter who has tried to  make her father notice her, even working in the same field though in public relations instead of biomedical engineering. She is adrift after being dumped, fired and pregnant. Now Gabi finds herself reevaluating her life and making some hard decisions as well. But can she trust Wade to cherish her heart even as she fears she is just a replacement for the one he lost in his past? Gabriella is a control freak, one person who needs to make sure she has every ‘I’ dotted and‘t ‘crossed. What endeared me to her was her trust in her family to honor her wishes regardless of what she decides be it about the child she is carrying or a different job path. The connection she shares with her sisters as well as her grandmother is loving and delightful to read. You can really feel the love between these characters even as you find yourselves rooting for Wade to steal Gabi’s broken heart. The cast of characters are a delight and we meet some new ones as well. Full of life and brimming with vulnerabilities, I loved seeing how the sisters’ interacted with one another as well as with others.

Sherryl Woods WIND CHIME POINT is a story about love, friendship, family and more. It’s about choosing the one path that you may think isn’t right for you even as you long for it. Sherryl Woods is a master storyteller and I loved this latest novel in her Ocean Breeze Series. I can’t wait to see what happens next for the youngest sister, Samantha as well as the sub-story line involving their grandmother. If you enjoy down home, heartwarming tales then grab any Sherryl Woods story and settle back for an afternoon of reading enjoyment.
