For Jenny
Collins, Chesapeake
Shores holds lot of good
memories as well as some bad ones. As a daughter of a single mom, she envied
her friends with large families and that didn’t stop even after her mom’s
marriage into the big, boisterous O’Brien family. Feeling like an outsider
looking in, Jenny left Chesapeake
Shores to make a name as
a songwriter in Nashville,
where after years of hard work, she has had mush success as well as heartbreak.
Now back to put the past behind her, to see she can heal a broken heart, Jenny
must find it in her heart to let the one man who knows her inside and out have
her heart again even as she tries to make peace with the past because the
future is looking bright if the O’Brien’s have any say about it.
I got to
admit whenever I open a Sherryl Woods book, you get the sense of coming home
after a long time away and in her latest Chesapeake Shores novel, we get to see
Jenny Collins find her own happy ever after as well as touch base with all the O’Brien’s
as well that I have grown to love over the course of this series. Ms. Woods
delivers a wonderful heartfelt story of a woman dealing with her past in order
to have a future that everyone wants her to have, namely a husband, family and
lots of love. The story is fast paced as we get to see how all the past
characters are doing as well as meet a few new ones. There are a few twists and
turns that had me on the edge of my seat more than once as well and you can’t
help but root for Jenny to get her own happily ever after.
The author
does a wonderful job in capturing Jenny’s bruised feelings, her upset over the
way she found out about her half-brother to trying to adjust to all the changes
in her life at such a short time. I felt for Jenny so much. Jenny has had to
deal with a lot in her life. From her father basically ditching her and her mom
to feeling like a third wheel when her mom falls in love with Thomas O’Brien.
The reader gets a sense of how wounded she was even as she feels it is stupid
to act like this but she can’t help how she feels. Jenny is a character I have
grown to love ever since we met her in the beginning of the series. She is a
character who grows on you and you just can not help but feel for her
especially as she tries to handle the O’Brien’s tendency to meddle in other
people’s affairs of the heart.
Sherryl
Woods delivers a timeless classic in A SEASIDE
CHRISTMAS as she brings you back to the Chesapeake Shores
& the O’Brien family. This is an author who knows how to create intriguing
storylines, a complex and diverse cast of characters that you can’t help but
fall in love with and more for readers to enjoy. This holiday season, why don’t
you fall in love with the Chesapeake
Shores and find out
how letting go of the past can make your future much brighter. I am really
hoping this author comes back to this series in the future. I would love to
catch up with all my favorite characters again.
