Jaden is a Dream-Walker who can enter people’s dreams with their permission. The only person whose dreams he can enter uninvited is his mate’s and everyone has known since they were little children that Rachel is his mate. Until he enters the dream of his mate and finds it’s not Rachel, but Lara, and she is in deadly danger.

This is the first book in a new series, “Sanctum”, which is where these powerful mages live. Ms. Lyons has authored close to one hundred books, winning several awards, and I chose this story expecting something refreshing, new, and of high quality. I wasn’t disappointed by the characters or the story. I liked both Lara and Jaden very much and they approached their challenges in appropriate and entertaining ways. Lara’s personality remains intact as she faces danger, while Jaden is the ideal hero, determined to protect her at whatever cost. One of the minor characters shows wonderful growth and development in the story and I expect him to get his book sooner rather than later. There is also a most endearing minor character I hope we hear more about as well.

A little bit more world building about the actual geography of Sanctum would have been helpful. And fewer misused words would have been good, too (home/hone, wreck/wreak, bit/bite, shudder/stutter, averse/adverse etc). But nonetheless I’ll be watching for more books in this series. It’s off to an excellent start.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
