For Jack Lewis, life was good. He had his boat, a nice career and even though he struck out on love, he was still hopeful he would find someone to love eventually. Until he meets David and then all it takes is one touch and Jack is lost. David isn’t just a world traveler, he is a man of mystery and as Jack is drawn deeper to David, danger looms as Jack finds his world implodes and a his world is forever changed.

Wow….I haven’t read this author before and I loved how he built up the relationship between the characters. It gave me a chance to see their vulnerabilities as well as fall in love with them. The story moves at a nice even clip, the characters are very well written and the sparks fly when David meets Jack and vice versa. What would have been a loose friendship turns to something oh so much more for Jack and David. The sparks fly between these two and I loved how the author captures each characters hidden nuance perfectly. The one thing that I didn’t care for was the ending. It had a twist that didn’t quite fit the story, in my opinion, but overall worked to move the story along. I would have liked to see Jack struggle more with his choices and the fall out rather than a too pat ending of finding happily ever after.

Meet Jack Lewis. A charter boat fisherman, he has friends with benefits, Emerson, to scratch an itch and a career he loves but when the mysterious David comes aboard his boat, all it takes is one touch and Jack is lost. Can Jack find a way to have the relationship he desires even as events spiral out of control around him? I really liked Jack. He is an intense person who finds something he never anticipated-love. But the dynamics between Jack, David and Emerson are the ones to watch. Each is good on their own but when all three converge onto the pages, well lets just say things happen that leave Jack reeling. I got to hand it to the author for creating such flawed characters. They really resonate with me as a reader and a reviewer. The flaws these three show in CHANGING TIDE show just how vulnerable a human can be. I really thought this author did a great job in conveying those flaws perfectly within the story and all the characters are a great addition in keeping the story moving along nicely.

Overall, CHANGING TIDE delivers a solid story to get lost in. With the right balance of intriguing characters, a fast paced storyline and a twist the reader doesn’t see coming, I was blown away by it all. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for his readers in the future.
