Maria lives a simple life in a village where she works for the lord of the keep. She has always worn a silver necklace and has believed her father when he has told her it protects her from harm. But when badly wounded knights come looking for shelter and healing, Maria finds her world imploding for these are no ordinary knights. They are the Wolfjagers, ones who hunt werewolves and unknowing to Maria, she is one of the wolves they hunt. But when Maria meets a wolfbreed like herself, she finds herself torn in two when her desires to know who she really is verses the loyalty she has toward her village and family.

WOLF’S CROSS is one of those books you can’t help but fall in love with. Even though I didn’t read book one, Wolfbreed, I didn’t get lost from not reading it. Ms. Swann does an amazing job in capturing the era of Wolf’s Cross within the pages and keeps the reader guessing at what happens next within the story. The author does a great job in blending werewolf horror and historical aspects so seamlessly that you don’t know where one genre ended and the other began. The author creates a highly enjoyable story to get lost in on a rainy afternoon.

Meet Maria. A young lady who has been told from birth to wear the silver cross necklace as it will keep her from harm. When Maria finds that what she was told is a lie, events move quickly that had this reader on the edge of my seat in anticipation of what would come next for Maria. The author delivers a wonderful cast of characters to enjoy. You have the mysterious Maria, the determined knight, Josef and Darien, the wolfbreed who wants revenge- a mix of intriguing personalities as well as a few twists leaves you gasping for air. The cast of characters are well written, multi-dimensional and kept me rooting for Maria to find her happily ever after.

WOLF’S CROSS is a beautiful blend of paranormal, horror and historical and Ms. Swann does an amazing job in mixing these genres up in WOLF’S CROSS. With the right amount of mystery, romance, and more, the author delivers a spine tingling story for readers to sink their teeth into. Now I plan to pick up book one, Wolfbreed, to see how this series all began.

If you enjoy a mix of genres and a story that fairly leaps off the page, than try WOLF’S CROSS and get ready for an amazing adventure in a time period not written about much and with characters that will steal your heart. Ms. Swann now has a new fan after I finished this latest book.
