hasn’t been a bed of roses since he was cursed with the demon. Every touch
brings sickness and death in some cases, even plague. Intamacy, pleasure of the
touch of skin denied to him, Torin has always used his iron control to overcome
temptation. But one woman will shatter that iron control. Keeleycael is the Red
Queen and just escaped her prison. She is a powerful beauty who hides her
vulnerabilities from others; she can’t resist the passion that simmers
uncontrollably between her and Torin. But one touch from him could end her
life. Can Torin and Keeleycael find a way to be together before the scorching
desire between them flames out of control and burns them?
I absolutely love Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series and devour them each time they come out. We finally get Torin’s story and boy is it a doozy. The characters are quite entertaining, multi-dimensional and very intriguing. Ms. Showlater has a knack of showcasing alpha heroes with such vulnerabilities that it makes the reader just melt when they start reading this series. Each book is written as part of the series but also as a stand alone title as well. The writing is tight, story flows quickly and delivers such an engrossing story, that I forgot to make dinner until I finished the last few pages.
Torin and Keeleycael are a love/hate kind of a relationship and it just works for the book. I normally hate those kinds of stories but in this latest Lords of Underworld story, it just works perfectly. Ms. Showalter captures their growing desire as well as their exasperation (among other emotions) perfectly. The author does a great job in capturing their growing relationship, the hidden nuances and more within the pages of THE DARKEST TOUCH. Keeleycael is strong and thinks she needs no one. But Torin, with his iron control shattering whenever he is around her, it is a pure delight to see this strong alpha warrior find that he can have tenderness and even love. But first there is that tricky demon, Disease, to deal with, a war between Hades and Lucifer and oh yeah, Hades wants Keeleycael back as well. Let’s just say things get complicated fast for Torin and Keeleycael. Add in Torin’s fellow lords of the underworld and you get pure entertainment. The constant back and forth had me laughing on minute and the next sighing in pleasure.
THE DARKEST TOUCH is just one wild ride from start to finish. If you enjoyed past Lords of the Underworld titles then you will just love this one as well. Now I can’t wait for the next book in the series as there were a few characters that seemed to be coming up as a story soon in the series. If you enjoy an action packed paranormal with alpha heroes and the strong women who love them ,then grab one of the Lords of the Underworld series books and settle in for a rousing time. I just recommend starting from the beginning to get the aspects of all the lords of the underworld characters and whatnot. Overall, one entertaining read that hit all my love buttons!
