Emily is an assassin. Her only real talent is shooting people very accurately and escaping. This means she’s cautious and does all her own research ensuring she can escape each time.
Fin works for the Agency. Then he’s assigned a boring bodyguard job which gets very messy very quickly and he finds himself running away as fast as he can. With Emily.

I’ve been enjoying Ms. Lapthorne’s The Agency series. She is one of the very few “original” erotic romance writers dating back almost a dozen years to the beginning of the genre. She still manages to instill action, adventure and plot twists and turns as well as erotic MF sex in each book. Each The Agency story is a complete romance in itself, but various characters wander through the different volumes. I like seeing glimpses of former characters enjoying their HEAs as well as meeting new ones.
Emily and Fin are wonderful vibrant characters who leap off the page. The reader feels as if she’s right there, watching them in full color as they try to make sense of what is happening in their lives.

This book is a great addition to the series and well worth reading. I hope to see more of Emily and Fin in the future as well.

The editing is a fraction casual. There are a few things that ought never to have slipped through, such as Emily getting off the treadmill twice without ever getting back on, a person knowing something he wasn’t told, and on the blurb the hero is named “Finaly” instead of Finlay. (Can you hear my teeth grinding?) But it’s still a very good read.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
