Daniel Garrett is haunted by his past and the loss of both his wife and son. He can not get past that loss so he leaves the police force and turns to locating lost & missing children. He hasn’t been able to heal the wounds that still cause him such pain. When he attends the wedding in Eternity Springs, he meets beautiful, mysterious Shannon O’Toole and finds a woman with more secrets and pain than even he knows. But neither can deny the attraction that flares between them. As they grow closer, Shannon finds herself longing to share her secrets with Daniel but there is a big problem: can Shannon trust the handsome former detective with the truth and not shatter her already fragile heart? As the serenity of Eternity Springs weaves its magic around these two damaged souls, love finds the perfect way to heal hearts and maybe, just maybe, find the second chance they both need…together.

I absolutely adore Ms. March’s Eternity Springs series since the very first book. They are uplifting, heartwarming and such perfect beach reads for me that I can’t help but fall in love with the town and its many residents time and time again. With the latest book, HEARTSONG COTTAGE, we meet Shannon O’Toole, a new resident to the town and one with a mysterious and yet painful past that haunts her every waking moment. We met Daniel Garrett in past books and I found him charming, multilayered and mysterious and yet there was something that touched me deeply about him. When I saw this was his story, I just knew that the author found his perfect match in Shannon. She is tough & tender, sweet and determined and overall, perfect to help heal Daniel’s shattered heart even as he is perfect for her. The author does a marvelous job in capturing previous couples and gives the readers updates on their lives as well introducing new characters to fall in love with. The cast of characters that populate this little town is by far diverse and entertaining. The series as a whole is about love in all its glory, peace and healing and with Celeste as well as other well meaning residents of Eternity Springs giving out advice, helping Shannon and Daniel find their way, I found myself rooting for them both to find that peace they crave and healing that this little town is known for.

What this story leaves you after the last page is read is a feeling of peace and yes I cried buckets at times because this story was just so dang perfect. I love how the author incorporates the characters and their wonderful personalities within the story as well as keep the reader guessing what will happen next for these two wounded souls. With the right amount of mystery and a cast of characters that you can not help but fall in love with, I found HEARTSONG COTTAGE to be one story that left me a sobbing mess in the end. Ms. March definitely knows how to spin a story that draws her readers in and doesn’t let them go even after that last page is read. Now I am eager to see where the next story will include and just how this author will go about in giving them the peace and comfort that is truly Eternity Springs. Now all I need to do is find my own Eternity Springs so I can see if the beloved characters from the books are around and meet.

If you are looking for that perfect beach read or rainy afternoon book, then this series and in particular, HEARTSONG COTTAGE, is just about perfect for that. It has strong characters, a great theme/message and characters you just can not help but fall in love with. I look forward to more stories set in this wonderful Colorado town that I can’t help but wish was real.
