Colten's wolf won’t let him enjoy being mated to Zane. Zane is a Wolfhound a bread of animal made by scientist to kill wolves like Colten. Zane and his pack are different than the others, they have learned to control their animals and have even overcome the need to kill werewolves. Some like Zane have even found their mates among the werewolves but how can one love what has been bred to destroy you? Colten must figure out that very question. He longs for Zane the man but his wolf is terrified of the Wolfhound in Zane. Will the two ever be able to enjoy being a mated pair or will fear forever ruin it?

Colten and Zane's story is a nice read. I enjoyed watching their relationship become a real bond. Colten tries so hard to overcome his fear and he truly has feelings for Zane but it is his wolf that needs reassuring. Zane is a good and patient man. The two are good together and they both realize that there is something between them that is worth fighting for. It was nice to see Colten open up and try so hard for his mate. Zane shows that he is so much more than just a killing machine that he was bred to be. I enjoyed  seeing the two fight for their mating and when a threat comes to the pack we see just how much these two have bonded and if it that bond is strong enough. Not only do we get Zane and Colten's story but we also get to see more from Joey and Dean as their interactions bring them closer together.

The author does a good job of combining all the action going on in the pack and the mating story of Zane and Colten. This book is fast paced and engaging while it also leaves you eager to see what happens in the next book.
