After Zayne helps another pack member escape from their abusive pack he finds himself in a similar pediment. At what he thought was a safe pack Zayne is bitten and mated against his will. Peter did the only thing he could think of to save Zayne from having to return to the abusive pack but it seems that he has done the unthinkable and tied himself to a man who despises him. Peter not only hates the situation but himself as well. He tries to stay away from Zayne but the mating call is too strong and every time he thinks that he may be making some progress to at least having a civil relationship with Zayne something happens to sabotage it. Will the two men ever find a way to communicate and understand or will the two give up their love without a fight?

Zayne and Peter's story is a nice continuation of this series. Marcy Jacks has built a wonderful world full of good characters and emotions. Zayne and Peter have a complicated journey. Peter tries to do what is right and to keep Zayne safe.  Zayne is still recovering from his previous abusive pack and his emotions and thoughts are all over the place.  The two seem to be in a continuous cycle of one step forward and two steps backward, never seeming to make any progress until Zayne's previous pack comes calling.  Watching these two finally fight for their love made for a nice read. When push comes to shove Peter and Zayne see the truth and the two learn the hard way just what they can lose.

The author does a good job of mixing the action and the romance together in this story.  It pulled me in right from the start and had me glued to my reader to see just what would happen with Zayne and Peter.  I cannot wait to return to this pack and see what happens next.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
