Denise Agnew’s UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER is a sweet story of second chances, personal growth and maybe a little adventure to boot.When Freddie Bodine runs into her high school crush, Keith Wallace at her twentieth school reunion, she is pleasantly surprised to find he still makes her heart race and even more pleased to find he is interested in her as well. The only thing standing in the way of an incredibly hot and happy love for the two of them is Freddie’s upcoming archaeological dig in Los Diablos Mexico. Though it is a dream come true for Freddie, for Keith, who is Army Special Ops and well aware of the dangers of the area and has already lost one loved one there, her trip is a nightmare that he is unsure if he is willing to see come true.
Denise Agnew certainly knows how to pull at readers’ heartstrings and deliver the heat. UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER is a nice blend of sweet love story and suspenseful storyline. There is just enough fire and sex to have readers want to see these two strong and independent characters happy together. At the same time, there is just enough of a suspenseful storyline to keep readers hooked. When the hero eventually arrives back on the canvas, hearts can’t help but melt.
The only complaint this reader had was length of story. It just seemed to be over way too quick. More of a chase would have been nice, with our hero always one step behind the bad guys until the inevitable battle for his lady love perhaps. Still, Agnew delivers a well-balanced and incredibly romantic suspense with UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER sure to satisfy all her many fans.
