I have to give Ms. Roberts props- BED OF ROSES is one heart rendering story that will have you laughing, crying and sighing as you move through the pages. The characters are multi-dimensional, the smooth flow makes it feel like you are sipping some really wonderful champagne and the romance will leave you breathless. I read the first book, Vision in White, and loved the four friends as well as the secondary characters you come to love. When BED OF ROSES came out, I was itching to see what happens next for these four friends and to see if they really did get their happily ever after. Ms. Roberts is a masterful storyteller who creates a beautiful blend of romance, passion, love and emotions that the story had me laughing one minute and crying the next all with the turn of a page. BED OF ROSES is a story that makes you believe in love all over again.
Meet Emmaline Grant, the florist and partner at Vows, a wedding service that is run by herself and her three friends. A true romantic, she longs for the right man to sweep her away and have her tumble head over heels for. Until that happens, she was content in her work and friends/family while dating a little as well. That is until the kiss with long time friend Jack Cooke got her seeing stars and her heart exploded. These two people are wonderful together. I have to admit, I loved how Emma and Jack took it one day at a time while, unbeknownst to them, falling deeply in love with each passing day. Ms. Roberts really gets to the heart of her characters and Jack and Emma are no exception. With her trademark style, the reader is lost within the pages of BED OF ROSES as these two tumble head over heels for one another while trying to not see how the other makes them feel. Add in some wonderful secondary characters, old and new, and a sweet romance that is played along the pages, the reader is transported as they watch these two falls in love. I love these two together. Strong, independent yet both afraid to risk it all on a chance it may not work out, this author keeps the tension on simmer as Jack & Emma find the way to each other’s heart.
BED OF ROSES is a sweet, romantic story that will leave you breathless. I couldn’t put it down and read it in one afternoon. Ms. Roberts delivers something that will make you look at your loved one and fall all over again for them. With each stroke of her pen, Ms. Roberts creates a story that sizzles and leaves a lasting impression on your heart. I am eager to see how the last two couples make out in the final two books of this great series. If you enjoy a romance that is at times sweet and sexy, then run to grab BED OF ROSES. It is truly a magical ride you don’t want to put down.
