RIPTIDE is a very engrossing roller coaster of a ride from start to finish. I haven’t read suspense in a long time and Ms. Carroll delves right in with a flawed but intriguing heroine and lots of twists to keep you flipping the pages. With some tight writing, complex characters and a fast paced storyline, Ms. Carroll definitely delivers a story to suck you in and then spits you out after the last page is read.

Meet Christina Cardiff, a woman married to the wizard of Wall Street who can trace his forefathers straight to the Mayflower. In rehab in the Midwest, Christina is stunned to find out that Jason has died and she is the prime suspect. Can she find a way to solve the murder before she loses everything- her money, wealth and even her life? Christina is a wonderfully flawed character that touches the readers’ hearts from the beginning. She is a woman who makes some awful choices and finds her life on the precipice as everything comes after her, be it her alcoholism to her husbands murder. The reader is drawn to all the characters in here as they are very vibrant and Ms. Carroll deftly finds their inner souls and shows the readers that while keeping the suspense on overdrive.
RIPTIDE is a story about choices and truths. Will Christina risk everything for the truth and happiness or will she fold under all the demons she faces? Ms. Carroll deftly weaves a web of intrigue around the reader from the first page and I just couldn’t put this one down. This is definitely one of those books you continue to think about even after you close the book. The climatic ending leaves you gasping and asking for more. Run- don’t walk- to grab RIPTIDE and make sure to keep the lights on the entire time. This is a story that will make shivers run through you as you find yourself drawn in a race against time with
