When the employees arrive for work one morning at The New York Globe, they find that one of their editors has been killed. Stabbed with the spike he used to kill stories. Now, NYPD detective, Priscilla Bollingsworth and reporter, Jude Hurley, work together to unravel the mystery. There is not a lack of suspects. The editor was not a well-loved person. Then another person within the newspaper is murdered and all previous theories are thrown out of the window. Priscilla and Jude have their work cut out for them. At first they have to trust each other. Jude is busy trying to report all of the goings on and Priscilla is trying not to let too much out through the Press. This could be the end of the newspaper if the killer isn’t found soon.

What’s black and white and red all over? Yes, the newspaper, and in this novel, John Darnton takes us into the mad and crazy world of a big newspaper publisher, along with all the mayhem and intrigue. As I was reading, I was seriously looking for the killer, but there are so many characters and a lot of people who could have done it that I must say, I was surprised at the end. Which is what I like best about a crime story, not knowing who done it! Mr. Darnton knows what he is talking about, as he himself is a former newspaper reporter and editor. He has combined all the necessary elements of intrigue, suspense mixed with humor, entertainment and a little satire to give his readers a very satisfying read. I can recommend this for all crime fans and those who would like to try a crime story. You’ll be hooked!

THIS IS NOT AN ENDORSEMENT OF THIS BOOK. THIS IS AN OBJECTIVE UNBIASED REVIEW.
