Aubrey Rose reluctantly takes the job of nanny for the most adorable little boy. Ian is the only reason she took the job, because Aubrey certainly cannot stand Ian’s father, Sammy Halvorsen. He is rude, seems to be a drunk and a womanizer, and is a terrible father. But Aubrey has always had a soft spot for children and she can see this baby needs the love and attention that Aubrey is unable to give to a child of her own. Now she needs to make Sammy see that Ian needs him. But when she sees a different side of Sammy, will Aubrey be able to protect her heart?

The only thing that kept this book from being a 5-heart book is that I wanted to know what happened to Arianna and was disappointed that this string was not tied up. Maybe author, Kimberly Van Meter will give Arianna her own book someday! Yes, that is a hint to Harlequin.

Ok, now that I have gotten that off of my chest, on to the good stuff. This book is a terrific read. Not a new concept, woman becomes the nanny for a grieving widowed father, but Ms Van Meter has added elements that make this book pop! I did not like Travis very much at first either. He is a jerk, but even worse he is a neglectful father. I wanted to reach into the pages of this book and hit him really hard. That is when you know that an author is extremely talented. Aubrey has more patience than I would have had…and with more than just Travis. I think I would have cheerfully kicked Arianna right in her spoiled rotten, self indulgent butt and not felt one ounce of guilt, only unadulterated glee!

Yes, this book will bring out many different emotions in the reader, happiness, sadness, irritation, and outright anger. In short, this book is a must read and will not disappoint.
