BOUND TO SHADOWS is the second to last book in this wonderful series and one that will have you laughing, crying and gasping as the plot twists and turns on you. I love this series and have read each book a multiple of times just to get my Riley fix. Riley is a character that will have the reader rooting for regardless if you think she needs a little smack here and there for indecisiveness within the course of reading. What I found intriguing about this latest chapter in Riley’s life is that she is more settled with Quinn and secure in their love for him. It makes the book richer especially as her wolf soul mate Kye is figuring to fight for her as well. This is the story we all have been waiting for and frankly Ms. Arthur doesn’t disappoint. Multiple plotlines intertwine themselves within Riley’s personal life and you get the sense that this is leading up to something major in the last and final book, Moon Sworn. Can Riley resist the wolf Kye while trying to solve the vampire murders before all hell breaks loose? That question and more will be answered when you read BOUND TO SHADOWS.
Meet Riley Jenson, part werewolf/part vampire and all woman. Finding out your wolf’s soul mate is a hired killer has Riley ready to scream. She doesn’t even like the man but she cannot resist the call of her soul mate even as she tries to. On a case of murder, she finds more twists than she ever had before in a case and it all leads back to the one man she never anticipates until the actual truth comes out. Can Riley do what is needed before any more killings happen? Oh my god-this book had me crying in the end because frankly as Riley tries to reconcile her needs and desires with what her boss wants her to be, she finds herself on a slippery slope between being a killer or becoming something she can live with. With her life as well as the ones she loves on the line, Riley has to do the impossible in order to survive. But the question remains-will Riley want to survive when all is said and done?
BOUND TO SHADOWS is an exceptional story that reveals more of Riley and Quinn’s relationship as well as a few surprises with Rhoan and Liander. The reader gets more insight in many of the favorite secondary characters and when a beloved character disappears, the reader is left racing to find out what happens next for Riley, her friends, Quinn and Kye. Ms. Arthur is a talented author who will tease your senses and captivate you on all levels. I am looking forward to reading the final book in the series to see if Riley gets her happily ever after and the life she longs for. If you enjoy a kick-ass heroine, action packed story with some steaminess that will make you very warm, and then grab BOUND TO SHADOWS. It is one of the best Riley books by far and one I plan to read again soon.
