Chris has hated his paranormal abilities ever since his older brother died when he was younger. He always felt his abilities caused his brother’s death. One day, he is kidnapped and forced to take part in sadistic tests, by a strange, mad doctor. His sanity hanging by a thread, Chris finds solace in two men in the prison he’s in. One is a patient and the other is an orderly who shows Chris the only compassion he has ever known. Chris’s sanity begins to unravel as the mad, evil doctor, hammers away at him. Can these three people find a way to escape the confines of this hell hole, or will they all lose their lives in the end?
This is the first book I’ve read by this author and I have to admit, IN DARKNESS BOUND, I found a story that has mystery, romance, suspense, love, good vs. evil and more. The characters are well written, in-depth and very appealing. I found the author did a really good job in creating a storyline that kept the reader glued to the edge of their seats, wondering what will happen next. The writing was tight and the storyline was fast paced.
Meet Chris. He has psychic abilities that he feels caused his brother’s death years before. Coasting through college, using his abilities to steal answers, Chris finds himself kidnapped one afternoon, by a doctor who is maniacal and twisted. Forced to partake in experiments that test his sanity, Chris finds life as he knows it gone forever. Chris is an interesting character-vulnerable, complex and intriguing. I loved how the author was able to capture the inner vulnerability of this character. Add in two men who help Chris deal with everything and you’ve got a great story that has a few twists and will leave you breathless.The characters were well written and interesting. The mad doctor had me hoping that they would find their comeuppance in the end.
IN DARKNESS BOUND was a very well written story that had me completely glued till the very end. I am hoping this author returns to the world she created in this book in the future. There were moments where I was wondering if there was a back-story for some secondary characters. Ms. Price is one author I am looking forward to exploring in the future. If you are looking for a paranormal M/M book with hints of mystery and suspense to draw you in then grab IN DARKNESS BOUND. You won’t be disappointed.
