Poor Storie Bell, as a witch she hasn’t had the perfect life many think magic begins. For one thing her love life is in the pits. Another side is her town thinks she is completely off the wall nuts. Kind of hard to find a man for longer than one date when townspeople start mentioning how weird she is. It doesn’t help that her next door neighbor-scratch that-her sexy next door neighbor can’t make up his mind. One day he likes her. The next he can’t get away from her fast enough. It’s enough to drive a witch crazy. But Reid Malone has a secret-one that involves Storie. Reid is about to find out that when you deceive a witch things get kinda hairy quick.

This was my first story by this author and I have got to admit I loved every minute of it. DECIEVING THE WITCH NEXT DOOR is funny, quirky and highly entertaining. The writing was tight, story flowed nicely and the characters were absolutely delightful. You get a real sense of the residents of Bloomington, Texas. Ms. Ramirez brings vividness to her story with wonderful descriptions of the town and its residents. It was almost like you were right there alongside them, experiencing it along with them.

Meet Storie Bell. She is Southern woman who happens to be a witch. She has tried to keep her magic hidden but as all people know; you cannot keep magic hidden for long, especially if you have done something right before someone. She moves around a lot and though no matter how hard she tries, her neighbors still think she is slightly nuts. I loved Storie. She was a sweet, delightful heroine who really appealed to me. She has a uniqueness that made her quite sympathetic to the reader. Her interaction with the towns’ folks, her friends and her neighbor, Reid, was highly entertaining. Though I have got to say Reid Malone is one hot hero. The sparks flew fast and furious whenever he and Storie were on the same page. I had to have my bedroom fan on just to cool things down. Storie doesn’t trust Reid at all. There is just something about him that has her questioning his motives. The thing about Reid is he tries really hard to be a villain but really he is a good guy who just wants to live his life in peace and not break Storie’s heart in the process. I really liked Reid, especially when he tried to be bad. It made me chuckle a few times to see him do that and to see Storie’s reactions to him.

DECEIVING THE WITCH NEXT DOOR is a wonderful tale that readers will enjoy immensely. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in her backlist or in the future. Ms. Ramirez just got herself a new fan after reading this latest book and I can only hope she comes back to Bloomington, Texas as there seems to be a wealth of stories there waiting to be told.

This is an objective review and not an endorsement of this book.
